Innovation and Technology Agency of Ministry of Economy of Georgia and COTEC, association of technological innovations of Italy, have signed a memorandum on understanding.
The agreement calls for sharing experience in terms of innovations, technical-research direction and implementing joint initiatives and projects. Objective of the cooperation is to support technological development and encourage technological development between Italy and Georgia. Action agreement was signed as part of the visit by President of Italy Sergio Mattarella to Georgia.
As part of the action agreement, an innovative award was established – Georgia’s Best Innovator. The committee specially created for this project will select the best startup among candidates. The committee will be staffed by representatives of Italian Embassy in Georgia, COTEC and GITA.
The winner startup will pass three-month probation period in Italy at Kilometro Rosso. Kilometro Rosso is an European innovative center which was founded in 2003 and offers entrepreneurial activities, research centers, laboratories, professional services and trainings.
The winner startup will receive full support and assistance from the center researchers for further implementability of the idea.
COTECT is an independent, noncommercial research organization which aims to encourage and promote technological innovations in Italian production system.
