France ready to double trade turnover with Belarus within five years

France suggests doubling trade with Belarus within the next five years, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, told reporters on 26 October.

“Now Belarus-France trade is estimated at $350 million. Our task is to double it over the next five years,” Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said. In his words, promising cooperation avenues include agriculture, insurance, transport, supplies of machinery and equipment.

Belarus Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko noted that he upholds this initiative. He expressed hope that the trade of $700 million will become a reality earlier than in five years.
