Implementation of the first PPP (public–private partnership) project worth 10 million euros will start being implemented from June 2018, Economy Minister Artyom Novikov said.
Feasibility study of 6 other PPP is under way, he said.
“The government introduced a new draft law on PPPs, thoroughly analyzed the old one, the problems, difficulties, and barriers that existed and the business faced. The new draft law significantly expanded the powers of state bodies and reduced the timing of PPP implementation. We looked at other countries, this is a worldwide practice, where the implementation of the project takes about 4-7 years,” the minister said.
