European Union to provide 44,5 thousand EUR for Civil Society development in Uzbekistan

In 2018, the EU Delegation in Uzbekistan has launched a new project “Advancing Civil SoCiety in promoting Escr StandardS (ACCESS)”, which is focusing on strengthening the role of Civil Society actors in Uzbekistan, the European Delegation reports.

The Project will involve human rights defenders, lawyers, legal scholars and independent experts to improve the understanding and promotion of economic, social and cultural (ESC) rights as well as the role of judges and the courts in the protection of these rights.

ACCESS Project’s total budget is 444,445.00 EUR with 36 months (3 years) of duration and will be implemented by International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), Switzerland, within the European Instrument for Democracy & Human Rights (EIDHR).
