“On July 25, the Verkhovyna District State Administration hosted a presentation of the project “Support for cheese producers in Ivano-Frankivsk region regarding the registration of geographical indications in Ukraine.” As a result, it was decided to create a working group for the registration of the association of cheese producers, to work out the charter and to implement other measures to determine the Hutsul cheese (brynza) as a food product with the appropriate geographical indication (marking),” the press service of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration reported.
The project to support cheese producers is funded by the European Union. It was represented by international and national experts on the development of geographical indications for food products.
