EU to provide grants to enhance business cooperation in Moldova

The European Union will provide non – reimbursable financial support/grants to carry out projects to create or strengthen cooperation platforms between business associations and NGOs on both banks of the Dniester river. The deadline for submitting projects is 28 August.

“The non – profit organisations (NPOs) from both the right and the left bank of the Dniester are invited to submit applications for financing up to €25,000. The projects must contain business cooperation and confidence-building initiatives between business associations and NGOs on both banks of the Dniester. The project completion period is October 2019 – October 2021,” indicates sources from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Moldova.

Also, UNDP specifies that info seminars will be held in the context of these funding: on 05 August – in Chisinau, and on 06 August  – in Tiraspol.

Previously, there have received funding from European funds 08 platforms of cooperation between business associations on the banks of the Dniester. Due to them, the farmers on both banks promoted their products to common stands at international fairs and concluded export contracts on Western markets.

Also, there were created tourist info centres in Chisinau and Tiraspol, it was opened a centre for promoting organic farming, and the business environment was able to access data on the market on the left bank of the Dniester, based on a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tiraspol and the Moldo – French Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The competition is launched by the EU Programme: The measures to promote confidence, which contributes to increasing the degree of trust between inhabitants on both banks of the Dniester by their involvement in joint development projects. The programme is funded by EU and implemented by UNDP Moldova.
