EU supports energy efficiency in Belarusian public buildings

The kindergarten in Ašmiany, Belarus, will be thermally insulated and retrofitted as part of the EU-supported “Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects” initiative.

An energy audit helped to identify measures to increase the energy efficiency of the building. As a result, the windows will be replaced with double-glazed ones, the facades will be insulated and the old ventilation and  heating systems will be replaced. The lighting will be also replaced with energy-efficient lights and solar panels will be installed on the roof.

These measures will help the kindergarten to save more than 81% of the energy it consumes at the moment and avoid energy losses. Children and staff will also benefit from more comfortable conditions.
