The European Union plans to provide 5 million Euros to Uzbekistan to facilitate its accession into the World Trade Organization, the State Investment Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Such agreements were reached during the European Union-Uzbekistan meeting that took place in Brussels recently.
“The agreements were reached regarding signing of financial agreements on 30 million Euro Sustainable Water Management in Ferghana Valley Project and 15 million Euro Cattle Breeding Development Project. Besides, the projects will be prepared until the end of the year on facilitation of Uzbekistan’s WTO accession, the EU intends to provide 5 million Euros for their implementation,” the State Investment Committee said.
The sides have also reached agreements on allocation of 5 million Euros for Rural Employment Development Skills and allocation of 40 million Euros for public budget support in early 2019.
The EU assistance national program 2014-2020 in Uzbekistan has the overall budget of 168 million Euros. 25 projects for more than 100 million Euros are ongoing now in Uzbekistan with EU support.
