The EU4Energy Governance project undertakes to support Georgia in developing new standard terms and conditions for direct contracts for the sale and purchase of electricity. The technical assistance was launched on 8 October with the participation of the Georgian National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission as well as the Georgian State Electro system (TSO) and the Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO) and will be delivered by the end of this year. During the kick-off meeting, participants outlined the current status of the electricity market and electricity procurement procedures. They also discussed the issues surrounding the terms and conditions to be included in the template contract to be developed under the technical assistance, to contribute towards the creation of a liberalized electricity market in Georgia in accordance with its obligations under the Energy Community Treaty.
