EU, EBRD support Ukrainian company Sirocco Energy in development of urban wind turbines

The Ukrainian company Sirocco Energy is one of the winners of the joint EU and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development programme “Climate Innovation Vouchers”. Thanks to the grant it received, Sirocco Energy will develop its prototype of urban wind turbines that can produce renewable energy in cities.

“We have thought a lot about the potential projects that could improve the lives of people and also be environmental friendly,” says Olexander Pryimak, the founder of the company. According to the estimations, a wind turbine will cost approximatively €7,000 and can meet the energy needs of three houses.
