EU allocates €5 million to support Uzbekistan’s WTO accession

Head of EU Delegation to Uzbekistan Ambassador Eduards Stiprais visited the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan on January 21 to discuss prospects of bilateral cooperation, expansion of trade, financial and technical assistance.

The European Union has allocated 5 million Euros to provide support to Uzbekistan in WTO accession. The project will be implemented by the International Trade Center and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, officials of the EU Delegation to Uzbekistan said.

The International Trade Center will proceed to practical implementation of the project in the nearest time.

Ambassador Eduards Stiprais reaffirmed commitment of the European Union to support the Multi-Partner Human Security Trust Fund for the Aral Sea region in Uzbekistan.
