EU agriculture and development program ENPARD supports local production in Georgia

On 25 August 2018, Khulo FEST took a place in Khulo municipality of Ajara. The festival was organized by Khulo LAG, in cooperation with municipality City Hall, with the support of EU and Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia (CCRG). The event held in front of the Khulo Drama Theater.

The Festival was organized in the framework of the EU funded project “Promotion of Rural Development and Diversification in Khulo Municipality” implemented by Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia (CCRG) in partnership with Croatian non-governmental organization HMRR and PMC Research Center, under the European Neighborhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).

The Festival was attended by representatives of Ministry of Agriculture of Ajara and UNDP, local government representatives, tourists and Khulo residents.

The objective of the Festival was to promote local roducts. At the fair local products and handicrafts were presented. In addition, the representatives of local touristic companies provided information on different touristic places. In total 19 local producers exhibit their products.

In parallel, performances was given by local folck groups, such as: “Argineti”, “Mermisi”, “Khikhani”, “Bermukha”, “Khomli”, “Khulo”. The festival was full of entertainments. In the evening music bands “Sound lab”, “Groovephonics”, and “DJ:  Chiki/rezi” performed.

For guests of the Festival, special territory for campaigners were allocated, where guests could enjoy the beautiful view of Argineti mountain.
