Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Belgium Alexander Mikhnevich held talks with the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Representative Office in Brussels Gwilym Jones on 6 September, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Brussels.
The main topic of the meeting was the terms of the EBRD participation in financing the projects to upgrade flax harvesting equipment in Belarus with the help of the famous Belgian company Depoortere, to build livestock farms using the experience of Belgian farmers and scientists. The parties agreed on the algorithm of further action on this issue.
The parties reached an agreement on the mutual participation of the EBRD and Belarusian economic institutes in presentations, forums, roundtables and, in particular, the conference “Why Invest in Belarus” due in Kortrijk, Belgium on 24 October. The event has been organized by the Flanders Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Belarusian Embassy. The parties also talked about the EBRD roundtable in November.
