EBRD provides Tajikistan with $3.5 million grant on irrigation system improvement

About $3.5 million grant will be provided for the third phase of improvement of the water supply system in Khujand by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Avesta reports.

The total budget of three phases of the the project is $8.8 million, including $3.5 million grant.

$1.4 million technical assistance is provided to Tajikistan. The project is financed by the EBRD and the Government of Switzerland.

The project envisages rehabilitation of the water supply network in Vodnik village, construction of water metering units for consumers, restoration of wells, rehabilitation of the second pumping station, and installation of water meters.

The lower house of parliament of Tajikistan ratified the grant agreement between Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the third phase of improvement of the water supply system in Khujand at the end of 2017.
