The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is offering €15 million to finance the improvement of the solid waste collection and management system in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi.
The government of Georgia and the EBRD signed the loan agreement today.
The ‘Tbilisi Solid Waste Project’, which has a total estimated cost of €15 million, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
- Waste collecting vehicles (rear loaded compactor vehicles);
- Upgrading existing waste transfer station;
- Rehabilitation of landfill leachate system.
So far the EBRD has financed over 200 projects in Georgia, worth about €3 billion.
