A 5-star Hilton Tbilisi hotel is coming to Georgia’s capital city, bringing new life to an old Soviet era building, which soon will be transformed into a modern hotel.
After a long pause, an investor was found who will bring new life to this beautiful historic building”, said Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who buried with investors a symbolic capsule into the foundations of the upcoming hotel.
The long-awaited investor is Granat-Investment, who will invest about €45 million into Hilton Tbilisi hotel.
Located in the very heart of the city on Merab Kostava Street, the Hilton Tbilisi hotel will be opened in the old building of the former Ministry of Agriculture.
While the old building will be restored and maintain its appearance, a new and modern building will be built next to it that will merge the old with the new.
The construction of the hotel is due to be completed in 2019, while the hotel will open its doors in 2020.
The hotel will employ about 500 people.
