Dutch IT company Convious opens R&D center in Lithuania

Dutch IT company Convious is opening a research and experimental development center in Vilnius and is looking for software engineers and data analysts, with 30 people expected to be employed by the end of 2018.

Investuok Lietuvoje, an agency promoting foreign investment in Lithuania, says the Dutch company will develop a platform using artificial intelligence in Lithuania, providing personal price offers for online buyers.

Convious CEO Camiel Kraan says his company is offering very good working conditions.

Convious’s decision to set up a center in Lithuania shows the Baltic country’s capabilities of developing such activity, Investuok Lietuvoje head Mantas Katinas says.

“It’s getting more difficult to find software creators with great technical knowledge and “soft” skills in Westerns Europe, and a lack of such specialists has become a headache for many companies. More and more new specialists finish IT studies in Lithuania, and the technology sector is booming, therefore, the country has what it takes to attract global innovative companies,” Katinas said in a statement.

Founded in 2016, Convious is headquartered in Amsterdam.
