Central Asian IT Exports report presented in Tashkent

On April 17, StrategEast held a presentation of the “The Billion in the Distance: Central Asian IT Exports and Strategies for Growing Them” report in Uzbekistan.

The presentation and panel discussion were held at the IMPACT.T IT HUB of Tashkent with the participation of global development agencies, international financial institutions, management of local IT companies and tech entrepreneurs.

Participants of the panel discussion included Michael Wyzan, USAID Interim Mission Director; Akmal Paiziev, IMPACT.T IT HUB, Co-Founder; Otabek Nasirov, Fintech Association of Uzbekistan, Deputy Director; and Rovshan Rahimov, Regional Director for Central Asia and Eastern Europe at StrategEast.

There were active exchanges of opinions between panel participants and the audience during the session. The first regional report and policy recommendations, “The Billion in the Distance: Central Asian IT Exports and Strategies for Growing Them” was prepared by StrategEast with the support of USAID and EBRD.

We would like to express a special thanks to IMPACT.T IT HUB and Akmal Paiziev for their continued support in organizing and hosting the event.
