Armenia’s economic activity showed 11% year-on-year growth in March

Armenia’s economic activity index rose 9.7% in Jan-Apr 2018, compared with the same period a year before, the National Statistical Committee reports.

Economic activity showed a 7.4% and an 11% year-on-year growth in April and in March respectively.

The country’s industrial output amounted to around AMD 522.1 billion in Jan-Apr 2018 showing a5.2% year-on-year growth, the services sector accounted for AMD 487.1 billion and a 17.6% growth, domestic trade turnover has grown 10.3% to AMD 787.5 billion, construction 21.8% to AMD 64.7 billion and gross agriculture product 2.2% to AMD 129.4 billion.

A 2.4% year-on-year inflation was recorded in the country in April 2018.

Foreign trade turnover amounted to $2 221.8 million in Jan-Apr accounting for a 31.2% year-on-year growth.

In the government budget for 2018 economic growth is projected at 4.5%.
