Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast, delivered a speech at the KIT Forum 2024 in Bishkek, held on June 7-8. As the largest event focused on IT and digital innovation in Kyrgyzstan since 2010, the forum brought together key government officials and industry experts to discuss the region’s technological advancements, including the Minister of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nuriya Kutnaeva.
Anatoly Motkin shared valuable insights while moderating the panel discussion “GovTech: Changing Government Digital Infrastructure.” He highlighted the transformative impact of digital development on Kyrgyzstan’s economy, emphasizing the increasing significance of the IT sector. “The IT sector of Kyrgyzstan is becoming an increasingly significant factor in economic development every year. Today, using the example of Kyrgyzstan, we see that the long-standing economic model, which is based on agriculture, external migration, and a number of economic restrictions, is increasingly transformed every year under the influence of digital development,” said Mr. Motkin. Joining Mr. Motkin as speakers were Azamat Zhamangulov, Megacom; Farida Dauzova, RSK Bank; Chingiz Amanatov, Tunduk; Kubanichbek Sadanbekov, Infocom; Shamshibek Kachkinbay, Salyk Service.
He stressed the importance of collaboration between the IT sector, business, and government. “In order to achieve high results in the development of the IT ecosystem, it is important to join forces. IT cannot develop separately from business and the state. That is why more than 2,000 participants gathered at the KIT forum in Bishkek this year, including business representatives, international experts, the IT community, and government agencies. The synergy of all these branches in the issue of digital development can give Kyrgyzstan new opportunities: jobs in the IT sector, attract investments, make the country an important point on the IT map of Central Asia,” he added.
Mr. Motkin also discussed Kyrgyzstan’s international IT engagements. “At the end of May this year, the IT sector of Kyrgyzstan, represented by Infocom of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic and the MadDevs company, took part in the leading technology exhibition in the capital of Oman, Muscat – Comex 2024. New opportunities for the Kyrgyz IT sector in the Gulf countries were highly appreciated by both the delegation members and representatives of the Arab side. It is absolutely obvious that the IT sector of Kyrgyzstan has a great future both within the country and abroad,” Motkin stated.
The KIT Forum 2024 showcased Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to digital innovation, bringing together diverse stakeholders to explore new opportunities and forge strong partnerships in the IT sector.
