Kate Bunina

Kate Bunina has over 11 years of experience in the tech and innovations industry, global expansion and startup acceleration in Silicon Valley, Europe, LATAM and Central Asia.

Before StrategEast, Kate was a Managing Director of USMAC, a Silicon Valley-based accelerator focused on foreign startups ($1.7b capital raised by alumni and $1.4b exit value) and ecosystem builder helping 40+ governments. Kate has opened new markets for USMAC, such as Ukraine and brought new clients and strategic partners, which resulted in long-term cooperation with USAID, UN Women, governmental startup funds and local universities.

As an avid supporter of women in business, Kate and USMAC have co-founded the Prospera Women and Georgian Women in Tech – a series of programs for women-led startups. Featured in Forbes Georgia, Entrepreneur.ge, UN Women podcast and more.

Previously she established a branch in San Francisco as a Managing Director of U+Venture Building (corporate innovations lab), where she has also built digital products for Fortune 500 such as Volkswagen, T-Mobile and others. During her time in SF, she has also managed and mentored at the pre-seed accelerator Founder Institute.

Kate is often invited as a mentor, speaker and judge by WeWork Labs, GSMA, Startup Grind, UC Berkeley SCET and more, and is an Advisor of Tangible Movement, Los Angeles-based mental health NGO.
