Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Heydar Asadov has received Dirk Strattmann, director of the US company John Deere for CIS countries, and company representative in Azerbaijan Maximilian Poug. The Ministry reports that during the meeting the parties discussed directions of further cooperation.
“John Deere specialists can develop a plan of measures to prevent salinization of lands in Azerbaijan,” Stratmann said. According to the report, during the meeting Minister Heydar Asadov proposed to create a working group in the field of education and include representatives of the company, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Education and farmers into the group. “The minister also informed the representatives of the company about the importance of supplying cotton harvesters to the country in a short time, in accordance with the signed contract, and discussed the possibilities of purchasing modern equipment in the field of melon growing in the future,” the report says.
