The European Union today published the Report on the implementation by Moldova of the Association Agreement on the period March 2017 – March 2018, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The report reviews the developments in the sectors concerned by the Association Agreement. The document shows an improvement of the economic situation, progress made in implementing some reforms, strengthening the carrying out of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) and, respectively, a 18-per cent growth of the commerce with EU against the same period of the year before, enforcement of the programme on cooperation with IMF, continuation of the public administration reform, reforms underway in the research and innovation fields.
The priority directions for continuing reforms or their speeding up are in accordance with the actions undertaken in the concerned sectors by the Moldovan authorities. The support EU is providing to this end, reiterated on the occasion of publishing the report too, is particularly important.
Such reports are regularly published by EU ahead of meetings of the Association Councils with the partner countries which implement Association Agreements. The actions taken to enforce the reforms’ agenda assumed by Moldova will be discussed with European partners at a meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council, due in Brussels in early next May.
