Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS, Britain) starts a project for comparative analysis and corporate certification of procurement and supply governance.
The press service of the company reported that representatives of EBRD and CIPS on Tuesday presented international standards, which Ukrzaliznytsia is to meet for certification of procurement and supplies to the company’s managers.
“As international partners have said, the certification of procurement and supplies at Ukrzaliznytsia requires at least six months with strict adherence to the schedule. The international procurement certification and supply governance is one of the conditions for granting a loan of up to EUR 150 million by the EBRD for the purchase of general purpose gondola cars,” Ukrzaliznytsia said.
Thus, CIPS will conduct a comprehensive analysis of procurement and supply governance procedures, practices and efficiency of the company’s personnel, compliance of the procurement system with the overall business strategy of the company, risk management and application of methodologies. In general, more than 60 elements covering five different spheres will be analyzed. International partners will identify effective steps to improve procurement efficiency and supply governance based on internationally accepted practices.
“The audit and consultations of the world’s largest professional organization in the field of procurement and supply governance CIPS will improve internal efficiency, minimize risks, increase transparency, gain more trust from partners and introduce standards of best international practices. Ukrzaliznytsia wants to become the first state-owned company with international certification of procurement and supply governance,” acting Board Chairman of Ukrzaliznytsia Yevhen Kravtsov said.
