European Commission’s Director-General for Mobility and Transport Henrik Hololei said Georgia has excellent potential and opportunities for investing in transport. Hololei is paying a visit to Georgia to participate in upcoming Tbilisi Belt&Road Forum that will take place on November 28-29.
“Georgia is carrying out a huge infrastructural modernisation project – the East-West Highway and Anaklia Port, which is very impressive to me. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway should also be highlighted”, Hololei said after meeting with Georgian Minister of Economy Dimitri Kumsishvili today.
During the meeting, Hololei and Kumsishvili also spoke about the assistance EU can offer Georgia to develop its transport infrastructure. Hololei believes that Georgia, as reliable partner will play important role in logistical and transit relations between Europe and Asia.
