A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan is paying a visit to the United States from 23 October to 1 November, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in the field of introduction of advanced American technologies and innovations into the agro-industrial complex of Uzbekistan, as well as to increase bilateral interuniversity cooperation.
Within the framework of the visit, the Uzbek delegation will hold a number of meetings in Washington. In particular, the Uzbek delegation will hold talks at the US Department of Agriculture and discuss prospects for attracting US investments in agriculture, organizing mutual visits of specialists in this field, and implementing joint projects on the supply of Uzbek agricultural products to the United States.
Issues of deepening Uzbek-American cooperation in the field of innovative and applied agricultural science will also be discussed. Representatives of Uzbekistan intend to visit the University of Michigan and Ohio State University. During the visit to these universities, the delegation of Uzbekistan will familiarize themselves with activities of educational institutions. The sides will also discuss issues of further development of inter-university partnership.
