The delegation of Uzbekistan led by Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Ties and Tourism of the Senate of the Parliament of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov met with Erin Walsh, Assistant Secretary for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. Commercial Service, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said. The sides discussed progress of implementation of the agreements reached during the American-Uzbek business forum held on 20 September 2017 as part of the visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev to New York.
The sides reiterated interest in participation of American companies in large-scale development programs and modernization of the industrial enterprises in Uzbekistan. The agreement was reached to bolster official and business contacts between Uzbekistan and the United States with the purpose of further expansion of bilateral investment relations and trade.
