StrategEast, in partnership with Techno Hub Dushanbe, and the State Unitary Enterprise Tajinvest, hosted a donor coordination meeting on “Digital Transformation: From Local to Global” at Techno Hub Dushanbe.
The meeting focused on identifying key steps to advance ICT development in Tajikistan, highlighting the country’s potential to emerge as a regional technology hub. Key discussion points included:
– Building a Competitive Workforce. Training professionals with skills aligned to the demands of the global digital market.
– Developing an Integrated Ecosystem Establishing connections between education, the labor market, and investment opportunities to foster growth.
– Expanding Digital Infrastructure. Ensuring equitable access to technology across all regions of Tajikistan.
– Globalizing Local Solutions. Promoting local innovations through international partnerships to reach global markets.
Special emphasis was placed on engaging the country’s youth—who constitute 40% of the population—in the digital economy. Discussions centered on fostering conditions for innovation, entrepreneurship, and the active participation of young talent in the ICT sector.
Participants included USAID, OSCE, Swiss Cooperation Office, Government of Switzerland, Accelerate Prosperity, the Aga Khan Foundation, among others. The participants committed to coordinating efforts and developing joint initiatives to support the sustainable growth of Tajikistan’s ICT industry, paving the way for its integration into the global digital economy.
