Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic | October 9-10, 2024
For the first time, Kyrgyzstan will host the Turkic States AI Summit on October 9-10, 2024, organized by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic. This landmark event will bring together government leaders, AI experts, and industry pioneers to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to accelerate economic growth and digital transformation across the Turkic States.
One of the summit’s key highlights is the panel session titled “What’s Next in AI for Business and How AI Can Be Leveraged for Economic Growth,” co-organized by StrategEast and supported by USAID’s Future Growth Initiative Central Asia. This expert-driven session will explore AI’s role in fueling business innovation and driving sustainable economic growth, with a particular focus on its practical applications for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups.
Yuliia Malich, the Head of Public Policy at Bolt, will share insights on how AI is shaping public policy and transforming industries, especially as Bolt prepares to expand by opening offices in Central Asia. Oleg Puzanov, the Co-founder and Director of Business Development at Mad Devs and ENJI.AI, will provide his expertise on how AI analytics can streamline business processes and drive innovation in tech-driven enterprises. Alexander Khanin, the Founder of VisionLabs.ai, whose company became a global leader in AI technologies and was acquired by MTS telecom for $100 million in 2021, will offer his perspectives on how AI can revolutionize industries across the Turkic region.
Why It’s Critical for Economic Growth
AI is rapidly transforming industries worldwide, offering unprecedented opportunities for innovation and development. However, while some Turkic countries have made strides in AI advancements, others—particularly in parts of Central Asia—still face significant barriers, such as limited internet access and underdeveloped infrastructure. The Turkic States AI Summit aims to bridge these gaps by fostering collaboration, shared solutions, and investments in AI-driven economic growth.
Aisuluu Kozhomkulova, Regional Director for Central Asia at StrategEast, who will moderate the panel session, highlights the importance of cooperation:
“Turkic countries have made significant progress in regulatory frameworks, digital services, and AI skills development. However, infrastructure and talent remain key challenges. Developing a shared platform, like a large language model, will enhance intercultural communication, advance education, improve healthcare, and foster economic integration—for example, Gemini is already fully available in Turkish.”
Building a Future with AI
The summit, themed “Connecting Intelligences, Multiplying Possibilities, Shaping the Future,” will feature discussions on AI’s role in sectors such as education, healthcare, and cybersecurity. It will also include an exhibition showcasing cutting-edge AI technologies from across the Turkic countries. By addressing the region’s infrastructure and skills gaps, the event will create pathways for innovation and ensure that the Turkic States play a leading role in the global AI economy.
The event will be held at 191 Yusup Abdrahmanov Street, Bishkek, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. over two days. Journalists and media representatives can apply for accreditation by contacting Mr. Mahtumkuli at +996 (503) 77 37 47 or via email at aisummit@digital.gov.kg.
