Moldova’s power transmission company Moldelectrica has invited bids for the rehabilitation of its transmission network, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Tuesday.
The contract will be funded with part of the proceeds of a loan extended by the EBRD towards the cost of Moldelectrica’s Transmission Network Rehabilitation Project, the bank said in a procurement notice posted on its website. The contract will include replacement of medium voltage switchgears in the following substations: Baimaclia, Balti Centru, Bucovat, Calfa, Caplani, Ciocilteni, Cioropcani Noi, Floresti, Iargara, Mihalaseni, Raut, Straseni, Vulcanesti Raionala and Zastinca.
For this project Moldelectrica also received a parallel loan provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a grant funding from EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF). Tendering for contracts that are to be financed with the proceeds of the EBRD loan is open to firms from any country. The closing date of the invitation for tenders is November 17, 2017.
