Sir Suma Chakrabarti has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the sustainable development of Eurasian Countries.
The award handover ceremony was held online on May 4th.
Answering the questions by Anatoly Motkin, President of StrategEast, Mr. Chakrarabarti, who is currently as Adviser to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan on economic development and effective governance, described the prospects for economic development in Central Asia, which he considers a very promising region, including for the development of the knowledge economy.
According to Mr. Chikarabarti, in order to realize this potential, the countries of Central Asia need to work together to use the synergy that the large and young population of the region provides. At the same time, the countries of Central Asia need to disseminate the best practices of public administration, which today are applied only in certain areas or in special economic zones, to the entire region.
Mr. Chikarabarti also thanked StrategEast for its contribution to the socio-economic development of the Eurasian region.
