On January, 28th StrategEast President Anatoly Motkin took part in the first meeting of the newly established Working Group on Democracy and Technology of the Community of Democracies.
The Working Group is chaired by Georgia with participation from India, Poland, and key government, civil society, and private sector partners from other countries.
The Working Group acts as a platform for joint discussion and action to harness digital technology to support effective and accountable democratic governance. It aims to foster collaboration around the development and use of digital public goods, including governance platforms, open-source tools, and other solutions that strengthen democracy and democratic institutions.
The Community of Democracies Working Group on Democracy and Technology (WG D&T) is a structure for joint discussion and action aimed at harnessing digital technology to support effective and accountable democratic governance worldwide. The Working Group coordinators are Permanent Secretariat of the Community of Democracies and Digital Impact and Governance Initiative, New America.
