Representatives of Ukraine and the United Kingdom have started working consultations on a new basic cooperation agreement, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported on Twitter.
“Ukrainian-British working consultations on a new basic agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom began on January 14 with the participation of [Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister] Vasyl Bodnar,” the tweet reads.
On January 9, the UK House of Commons gave final backing to the agreement on the country’s exit from the European Union.
The Withdrawal Agreement Bill will now pass to the House of Lords. The agreement is expected to come into force in the next few weeks.
Negotiations on future trade relations between Britain and the European Union will begin after January 31.
