On 1 January, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations announced the second cycle of a grant competition to support agricultural initiatives in Georgia under the EU-funded European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD III).
The Application Review Committee is now reviewing submissions from the first grant cycle.
The objectives of this grant initiative are to improve access to finance, services, equipment and inputs for farmers, rural households, cooperatives, and other small and medium-sized enterprises in the rural areas of Georgia.
These improvements are expected to contribute to increased competitiveness of the agricultural sector and better livelihoods for people living in rural areas.
