OPIC to allocate $50 million for constructing seaport in Georgia

The US Government plans to fund Poti Terminal construction works. OPIC will allocate 50 million USD for constructing deep-water seaport of Pace Terminal.

The loan agreement was signed at the OPIC head office in Washington. The official signing ceremony was attended by David Bakradze, plenipotentiary ambassador of Georgia to the USA.

The length of Poti deepwater seaport will be 650 meters and total workload will be 100 000 containers. Poti Terminal’s capability enables Georgia to become a regional hub, OPIC representatives noted.

OPIC has already financed about 60 projects worth 600 million USD.
