Uzbekistan has become the world’s biggest gold seller in the first quarter of this year, according to the report released by the World Gold Council.
Uzbekistan sold 6.2 tons of gold from January through March.
Mongolia comes second, the country exported 3.4 tons of gold. Tajikistan is third with sold 1 ton of gold.
Russia is the biggest gold buyer: the country bought 55.3 tons of gold in 3 months of 2019. Turkey bought 40 tons and China 33 tons of gold.
In April 2019, the central bank of Uzbekistan said it plans to export 80 tons of gold to the foreign countries, which is for 10 tons more than in the previous year.
