On 12 January 2019, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Austria Sherzod Asadov met with the President of the food additives manufacturing company Esarom GmbH, Ernst Kuntz, as well as Chief Executive Officer Michael Kornberger, Finance Director Stefan Möltz and Country Director for CIS Alla Brodyansky.
Esarom was established in 1946 and today is one of the five largest manufacturers in the world in its segment.
During the meeting, issues of expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan were substantively discussed, including creation in our country of high-tech production of food ingredients, as well as drawing on the company’s experience in promoting Uzbek confectionery products and the food industry in general on international and regional markets.
As the Austrian partners have noted, the Uzbek confectionery industry has all the possibilities, including to expand its presence not only in the markets of the CIS countries, but also in the EU.
It was emphasized that the plans of the Uzbek Government to actively develop the food industry in the country, primarily the confectionery, meat and dairy, and wine and vodka production, inspire confidence in Esarom, regarding the need to develop a long-term presence strategy in the country.
At this stage, the company expressed its willingness to conduct, in conjunction with Uzbek partners, in particular the largest confectionery complex in the region, Crafers (formerly Amilov), detailed analyzes of the markets of Central and East Asia and jointly develop a number of recipes, which meet international standards organic, halal and kosher with the purpose of establishing their production in Uzbekistan and subsequent exports.
Company managers expressed their readiness to provide full assistance in carrying out all the necessary laboratory tests at its head office in Austria and preparing the necessary documentation for certification, including in the European Union.
In addition, an agreement was reached on organization in Tashkent and Vienna of regular courses to improve the skills of the food industry specialists of Uzbekistan.
