World Bank assists Uzbekistan in developing open data initiative

The Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan is working on development of open data in the country and improvement of the Open Data Portal.

Reportedly, the delegation of the World Bank Group (WB) visited Uzbekistan’s e-Government Center in this regard.

The main purpose of the visit is to study the state of the open data ecosystem and further prepare a development roadmap to promote the open data initiative in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, First Deputy Director of the Center Daniyar Atajanov spoke about the current state of development of open data in Uzbekistan. Representatives of the WB, in turn, shared their experience in the open data sphere.

The participants discussed the priority areas for further bilateral cooperation. The guests gave their recommendations on the draft concept of the further development of open data in Uzbekistan.
