Zurich hosted signing of a 200 million euro loan agreement between Uzbekistan’s National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity and Credit Suisse on Nov. 13.
The agreement envisages cooperation in joint financing of investment projects implemented in Uzbekistan, under a guarantee from export credit agencies, without a state guarantee.
The agreement’s key advantage is the possibility of financing the projects that involve the supply of equipment and technologies from Switzerland, Europe, South Korea and China.
The National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan has been successfully cooperating with Credit Suisse in trade financing and payment transactions since 1993. The signed document is one of the first agreements of this kind between the Uzbek bank and the bank of Switzerland.
