Kazakhstan ranks among top-30 countries in ease of doing business

Kazakhstan is ranked 28th among 190 countries in the World Bank’s Doing Business 2019 rankings.

In the previous rankings, Kazakhstan was on the 36th position.

Kazakhstan climbed in 6 out of total 10 positions. Kazakhstan retained the first place in protecting minority investors. Improvements have been achieved in such indicators as enforcing contracts, getting construction permits, starting a business, resolving insolvency, getting credits, trading across borders.

Kazakhstan outstripped such countries as Spain (30), France (32), Portugal (34), Switzerland (38), Japan (39), Turkey (43).

Russia is ranked 31st, Belarus 37th, Armenia 41st and Kyrgyzstan is 70th.

Uzbekistan is on the 76th place (74 in previous rankings), Tajikistan is 126th (123 in previous rankings).

The top-3 countries remain unchanged – New Zealand tops rankings, Singapore comes second and Denmark is the third. Hong Kong is fourth and South Korea is fifth.
