France to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan on civil aviation

On the eve of the International conference on transport corridors, the Uzbekistan Airways Directorate hosted another meeting with the participants of this forum.

Bakhtiyor Khakimov Director General, Uzbekistan Airways, met with the Head of International Cooperation with Europe, CIS and Japan of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation of France Jacques Veant and Director for the development of the General Education National Civil Aviation School of the French Republic Michel Chauvin.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the establishment of cooperation in the field of training and professional development of aviation personnel.

During the talks, the French side was provided with detailed information on the Uzbekistan Airways’ Training Center, modern simulators installed in it, and on the opening of the initial training courses for civil aviation pilots on the basis of the Training Center. In turn, the French colleagues acquainted the representatives of the airline with their capabilities in this area and gave their suggestions on training specialists for Uzbek civil aviation.

The meeting also discussed issues of cooperation in the training of aviation personnel, the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint projects for further mutually beneficial cooperation.

Let’s note, the air communication between France and Uzbekistan was established in 1998. Since 1993, Uzbekistan Airways has been closely cooperating with Airbus, one of the largest aircraft manufacturers, as its Headquarters is located in the suburbs of Toulouse, France, since the delivery of the first airbus plane in Uzbekistan. In 2011, the program for the delivery of ten comfortable Airbus A320 aircraft was completed, and in 2019, the Uzbekistan Airways fleet will be replenished with two Airbus A320 Neos. Jointly with Airbus, a number of projects have been implemented, not only in the supply of aircraft, but also in the development of aviation personnel. The pilots of the Uzbekistan Airways had previously undergone simulator training at the Airbus’ training centers.
