EU to support public administration reform in Moldova

A team of experts within two European Union’s assistance projects, Support to Public Administration Reform, with a budget of 2.8 million euros, and Support to Develop Professional Capacities and Motivating Public Administration Employees, with a budget of 1.9 million euros, started on 18 September, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The projects will be focused on strengthening the institutional capacities and human resources of the Central Public Administration (APC) and Local Public Administration (APL) in the working out, implementation, monitoring and assessing policies, as well as improving the quality of providing public services, in accordance with the citizens’ expectations and needs.

In this respect, a string of activities of support will be launched in giving final touches and implementing the administrative reform, improving the professional capacities and motivating public employees, enhancing the transparency in the decision-taking process.

A team of experts for another EU’s technical assistance project, Support to Strengthen Process of Elaboration of Policies in the Context of Enforcement of Association Agreement, with a budget of 1.8 million euros, will soon come to Chisinau. The project’s major beneficiaries will be the State Chancellery, Finance Ministry, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry.

All the three projects are part of the agreement on financing between the Moldovan government and the European Union on the programme on support for the public administration reform, which sees providing technical assistance worth 15 million euros.
