Azerbaijan telecommunications satellite Azerspace-2/Intelsat 38 has already been delivered to the Space Centre in French Guiana, reports Trend. The satellite will be launched by the Ariane 5 ECA rocket, alongside the Horizons 3e satellite from the joint venture of Intelsat and Japanese operator Sky Perfect JSAT Corp.
Azerspace-2, the second Azerbaijan telecommunications satellite, will be based at 45 degrees East and will cover Europe, Central and South Asia, the Near East and Africa. The satellite was produced by the Canadian corporation MDA – Space Systems Loral (SSL).
Azerbaijan launched its Azerspace-1 satellite in 2013.
