Ukraine brings civil aviation norms in line with EU rules

The State Aviation Service of Ukraine jointly with the Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency (AESA) have completed the Twinning project “Bringing Ukrainian legislation in the field of certification of aerodromes/airports and flight worthiness into compliance with the relevant European Union standards,” Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Volodymyr Omelyan has stated.

“We see that by organizing similar projects with the help of the EU and using the best practices, knowledge and experience of our partners, we are creating a system for increasing the economic efficiency of air transport and ensuring a high level of aviation security,” he said.

Omelyan stressed that within the project, first of all, the technical aspects of the adoption of new aviation regulations, staff training were considered. He thanked colleagues from the Spanish aviation industry for assistance provided to Ukraine.

Head of the State Aviation Service Oleksandr Bilchuk, in turn, informed that all necessary technical materials – procedures, guidance for inspectors, forms, checklists, acceptable means of compliance and instructions (AMC and GM) were developed within the project. At the same time, the draft texts of technical materials were prepared in such a way that they were acceptable for approval in accordance with the internal procedures of the State Aviation Service.
