Uzbekistan, Greece agree on establishment of olive oil production

Uzbekistan-Greece business forum and cooperation exchange took place on June 28 in Athens. The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan.

The Greek side was represented by construction companies, food industry equipment makers, olive oil producers, pharmaceutical companies.

The main aim of the forum was facilitation of establishment of business ties between two countries, attraction of foreign investments, creation of joint ventures.

B2B cooperation exchange was held after the forum, where the sides discussed priority areas of cooperation. The agreement was reached on establishment of production of olive oil in Uzbekistan, creation of joint ventures in pharmaceutical and food industries.

In 2017 the bilateral trade between two countries made around $23.8 million. There are 11 companies with Greek capital in Uzbekistan now, including 7 joint ventures and 11 companies with 100% of Greek capital.
