Uzbekistan and Poland held the seventh round of political consultations of representatives of foreign ministries in Tashkent on 7 June 2018.
During the meeting, the Foreign Ministry and the delegation of the Republic of Poland, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrzej Papaj, jointly analyzed the current state and prospective directions for further development of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
The sides discussed issues of activation of bilateral contacts at the highest and highest levels, expansion of interparliamentary exchanges, holding in Warsaw the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
As noted, by now a solid juridical base of 41 documents has been created in Uzbek-Polish relations. The parties have accumulated significant positive experience of interaction between state and public structures, representatives of business, science and educational institutions, culture and art of Uzbekistan and Poland.
Special attention was paid to practical steps to increase mutual trade and expand investment cooperation. In this regard, it is important to include representatives of leading companies interested in establishing direct ties with Uzbek partners, scheduled business forums in Tashkent and Bukhara, to the Polish delegation. In this context, the Uzbek side supported the decision of the Polish side to open a representative office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Tashkent.
Within the framework of the consultations, a thorough exchange of views took place on selected international and regional issues of mutual interest.
The Polish Ambassador Peter Ivashkevich took part in the negotiations.
