The Czech Republic shows interest in developing cooperation with Belarus in agrarian science and education, Czech Minister of Agriculture Jiri Milek said at a meeting of the Czech-Belarus working group on cooperation in agriculture and food products.
“Science is of great importance for the development of agriculture. These are scientific research results that need to be put into practice, as the future of agriculture will depend exactly on this. Among the sectors where we can cooperate are technologies in cattle breeding and science. One of the issues on today’s agenda was to discuss the opportunities for an exchange of students and scientists. We support the strengthening of cooperation in the agrarian sector between our countries,” said Jiri Milek.
The Czech Republic is taking part in the international exhibition Belagro 2018, which is underway at the trade and logistics center Globus Park in the agro-town of Shchomyslitsa, Minsk District on 5-10 June.
“Yesterday we got an opportunity to visit the Belagro 2018 expo with a display of products from Belarusian and world manufacturers. We found the wide range of MTZ tractors to be very interesting. Today, we have visited Minsk Tractor Works and we were impressed with what we saw. We discussed ways of possible cooperation with MTZ,” said the Czech Minister of Agriculture.
In turn, Belarus’ Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Zayats emphasized Belarus’ interest in Czech farming technologies. “I would like to stress the positive momentum in our trade and economic relations. I am confident that we could work even more efficiently for the benefit of our states. It would be great if we could tap into additional reserves to intensify bilateral cooperation,” he added.
