StrategEast delegation made a working visit to Uzbekistan. A visit envisaged further communication between StrategEast and authorities of Uzbekistan, which was launched in September 2017 during a visit of the governmental delegation of Uzbekistan to Washington.
Among the StrategEast delegates were StrategEast Founder and President Anatoly Motkin, Founders of Viber and Juno Talmon Marco, Igor Magazinnik, Ofer Shabtai and the regional representative of International Tax and Investment Center Mukhit Akhanov.
A purpose of the visit was a launch of the implementation of StrategEast’s Global Minds Initiative Program in Uzbekistan. During two days, the representatives of StrategEast held negotiations with the representatives of government, the headship of country’s leading universities, largest communications service provider “Uztelecom” and residents of the high-tech zone Mirzo Ulugbek.
The result of the negotiations was a joint decision of StrategEast and representatives of the Government of Uzbekistan on the launch of the Global Minds Initiative Program in Uzbekistan. The first steps include the joint work of StrategEast and the government of Uzbekistan on the development of the elements of legislation and tax code that contribute to the development of the IT industry and the support of StrategEast in creating a training program for world-class IT specialists.
A visit of Uzbek IT entrepreneurs to the Silicon Valley as part of one of the StrategEast training programs for IT entrepreneurs from post-Soviet countries is scheduled for autumn 2018.
