Uzbekistan and Swiss Rieter AG company launch textile engineering project

Uztekstilprom Association (Uzbek Textile Industry Association) hosted a meeting with officials of Rieter Machines & Systems company Jan Siebert and vice-president of Rieter AG Rieto Tom.

The sides considered issues of further strengthening of bilateral cooperation and participation of investment projects in the textile industry, the Uztekstilprom Association said in a statement.

Today, the Swiss company has established itself as a reliable supplier of high-quality spinning equipment. The production capacities of Rieter Uzbekistan allow to produce a complete chain of equipment from the processing of cotton fiber to the production of yarn. With the participation of Rieter AG, large projects in the textile industry have been implemented and are being implemented.

In addition, in accordance with the program for localization and optimization of imports, a project in the field of textile engineering was implemented jointly with Rieter AG for US$11 million, making Uzbekistan a listed producer of technological equipment. And the Academy “Rieter”, which started its activity in 2015 in Tashkent, gave a solid basis for the training of national cadres-technologists for the industry.

During the negotiations Rieto Tom reported that Rieter AG is constantly working on improving the technologies based on the needs of the partners, therefore, in August this year for the first time among the countries of Central Asia and the CIS Rieter AG will supply Uzbekistan with the latest model of the Airjet equipment. With the implementation of this project, Uzbek textiles, along with cotton products, will be able to compete with the leading producers of finished products from synthetic fiber.

Uzbekistan and Switzerland will develop a joint program for training technologists for the textile industry.

These issues were discussed during a meeting with the management of the company Rieter Machines & Systems Jan Siebert. The project initiated by the Association “Uztekstilprom” was supported by the Swiss company.

Siebert particularly emphasized the dynamic development of the textile industry in Uzbekistan in recent years, the achieved results in industrial production and exports of textiles.

Proceeding from this, the head of Rieter Machines & Systems announced the readiness to develop a special training program for young and talented engineers from Uzbekistan at the company’s plants in Switzerland, Germany, China, India and Uzbekistan.

In addition, the training of personnel for the textile industry was also discussed with the Turkish company Dilmenler during the stay of the delegation of the Uztekstilprom Association in Istanbul in April 2018. During the visit, negotiations were held with the management of Dilmenler companies.
