World Bank has invested $11.6 billion in Ukraine for 25 years

On Friday, September 1, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk took part in the regular joint review of the World Bank’s portfolio of projects in Ukraine. This is reported by the Governmental portal. Minister Danyliuk stressed that Ukraine would mark the 25th anniversary of membership in the World Bank on September 3 and thanked for the investment, technical and advisory assistance provided by the organization within the framework of cooperation.

“Over the past 25 years, $11.605 billion has been allocated to finance the investment projects in Ukraine. The funds were transferred for institutional development of public authorities, support for certain directions and projects in priority sectors and fields, as well as system projects aimed at supporting reforms and balancing the state budget of Ukraine,” the statement reads. As noted, the portfolio is being reviewed to assess the progress of projects implementation to subsequently agree on the further steps to ensure their successful accomplishment.
